  1. Hey Surgeon! Robyn Few said I should contact you. She told me that you attend a Unitarian Universalist church where you are totally accepted. Is that true? I would love to know more about your relationship with this church because I began attending a Unitarian Univeralist church in Nevada City, CA and I have encountered some prejudice. Robyn thought you might be willing to offer me some support around this? Please email me at veronica@sexwithoutshame.com or call me at 415.294.5069. Thanks!

  2. Hi Veronica:
I attend a Unitarian Universalist (UU) church, and the UU”s are more open-minded than a lot of other religions are. I really like the church, though I have noticed some classism, which is a form of prejudice. Though there is some diversity, the church tends to be largely Caucasian, upper and middle class, white collar intellectuals. Sometimes, such people do have very stereotyped, narrow-minded, and paternalistic attitudes toward sex workers, even though they pride themselves in being open-minded and accepting toward marginalized groups. I’m sorry to learn that you experienced prejudice at the church. If you wish to share, how were people prejudice against you?
