Posting Petitions on “Bound Not Gagged”

Change.org posts petitions online that people can sign onto electronically, and it would be great if we could also do this on “Bound Not Gagged.”  We could post petitions to decriminalize prostitution, to support or oppose specific pieces of legislation, and related to additional issues we’re concerned about.  Here is a link to what I’m referring to:  http://www.change.org/actions .  What do people think about setting up something like this on “Bound Not Gagged?”  Would it be possible?

  1. I think it’s an excellent idea. It wouldn’t hurt to also conduct occasional polls or surveys among members here, either. Something like SurveyMonkey.com.

Speaking of petitions, polls, surveys, etc., I think it’s high time *somebody* started compiling a database of murdered sex workers.

  2. We have a big wish list of many fantastical things we’d like to do here at BnG. First up is some foundational strengthening, new theme, other new things that the smart techie people are doing and I don’t have the vocabulary for. Adding in polls, surveys and petitions would be a great thing to add to our wish list. But with the very limited resources that we have ($0.00 to be exact) and limited volunteer resources, these changes are coming slow.

The best way people can help us upgrade and improve BnG at this point is to attend our happy hour or make a donation online at http://www.DesireeAlliance.org or mail a check/M.O. to the address at the website. Email BoundNotGagged@gmail.com to let us know that you’ve contributed so that we can track our donations.

Thanks for this idea! I want to create a user survey to find out what people want to see more of here at BnG. Someday…

  3. Thanks, Stacey. Posting petitions that people can sign electronically could be a possibility for various sex worker advocacy websites, not only “Bound Not Gagged.” The idea of a user survey, which you brought up, is also a great idea.
