SF Mayor Gavin Newsom Demonizes Tenderloin Sex Workers

SF Mayor Gavin Newsom has made it clear: violence against sex workers isn’t nearly so important as “cleaning up” neighborhoods.

“If Prop K passes, can you imagine living here?” he asked, motioning to the surrounding Tenderloin streets.

“This is serious business,” he said. “We’re trying to clean up the Tenderloin.”

  1. Well, prop L lost buy a wider margin than K. Prop L was the ‘community courts scheme’ (like the one in New York) that negates marginal members in our society of their constitutional rights for due process. Passing prop L would have given the Mayor and the rest of the owning/ruling class a mandate to force whole class of people into the poverty pimping hands of the likes of sage where employees get their salaries paid through illegal fines for concentration camp style ‘peer counseling’ . I believe that the yes on Prop K campaign brought to light these schemes operated by the city and thereby played an important part in prop L’s defeat.

  2. Did you not read the voter guide? Prop L was no longer needed because of the vote of the Board of Supervisors. It was moot. It sure wasn’t your efforts that made Prop L fail. That’s kind of funny that you would try to claim credit though.
