Plea Expected for Primary Booker in “Prostitution Ring” Linked to Spitzer

Several former prosecutors and defense lawyers said the movement toward resolving the charges against Ms. Lewis and her codefendants suggested that prosecutors were nearing a decision on whether to prosecute Mr. Spitzer. The pleas do not indicate clearly what decision the government might reach, they said.

“It’s an indication — it’s not definitive” that a decision is near on Mr. Spitzer, said Patricia A. Pileggi, a criminal defense lawyer who served for 25 years as a federal prosecutor, five of them as the chief of the public corruption unit in the United States attorney’s office in Brooklyn.

Brandy Bergman, a spokeswoman for Mr. Spitzer, declined to comment, as did Rebekah Carmichael, a spokeswoman for the office of Michael J. Garcia, United States attorney in Manhattan, which is prosecuting the prostitution case.

Will Spitzer ever be forced to endure a day in court?

  1. I can’t cheer when justice gets done for unjust reasons. Whether it’s Larry Craig being busted on what I consider to be inhumane laws against men cruising men in bathrooms, or Spitzer being busted for hiring an escort.

Yes there’s deep hypocrisy about Spitzer evading prosecution for acts that he, as DA, pushed to prosecute, but I’d really rather he didn’t become a model for law enforcement to step up prosecution of sex work.

  2. I don’t mean to imply that criminalization, of either party, is a good thing.

I’ve simply become tired of sex workers getting busted, exposed, and imprisoned, while clients seem to walk away unscathed.

  3. Well it’s an age-old story – pimps and johns cover for each other. As the guy’s say today bro’s before ho’s.

  4. Ashley got some unwanted attention today from the New York Post.

The article suggests that Ashley is working again, and I certainly hope that’s true. She certainly did not want to *stop* working. But then, the Post doesn’t have the right to follow her around.

  5. Lewis was another snitch along with Ashley Dupre. You hear that Ashley, Susan hopes it is true you go back to work what the hell snitching is a trend today. Plus if you get busted again you can snitch some more now that you have a official snitch tag.

    Guide Note:
Ashley Dupree is a common misspelling of the name, Ashley Dupre. Dupre, who has used numerous aliases, was the call girl, “Kristen,” at the center of the Eliot Spitzer scandal.
She has been subpoenaed by a grand jury investigation, and is set to testify against four individuals people who operated the Emperors Club VIP prostitution ring. Dupre is not currently charged with any crime

So I am sure Ashley has a few good lames she can rat out if she gets busted again. Once a snitch always a snitch. A snitch is the scum of scum. She has the gall to go back to being in the Life after she violated a code of ethics and honor that is paramount to the way real Prostitutes live. I mean journalists and reporters have went to jail rather than rat out the source of their story. She is just a selfish wanstitute. She is bound to catch a bad decision what comes around goes around. She made enemies with not only the people she ratted out from the service but I am sure Spitzer and his buddies don’t have much love for her. What she should do is live a “squeaky clean” square life to avoid putting herself in a cross with the enemies she made.
