Police to target call girls here for Super Bowl

“Super Bowl gatherings likely to draw prostitutes”

People come to the Super Bowl looking for a good time. High-class call girls are known to travel the glittering circuit of sporting events, hoping to be the ones to provide it.But Valley police plan to spoil those kinds of party plans.Anytime there is an event of the magnitude of Super Bowl XLII, with its glitzy parties and large events, prostitutes arrive in hopes of cashing in on the crowds, Sgt. Joel Tranter of the Phoenix Police Department said Thursday. He said that working with the FBI, the U.S. Attorney’s Office and other law-enforcement agencies, Phoenix police will step up enforcement efforts aimed at prostitution, beginning Saturday.

That’s FBI as in Federal, US as in Federal and other law enforcement agencies as in Federal money. There’s big money going into this- a whole lot more than is going into economic relief for American families for instance.

“Do not come to Phoenix to set up shop to run prostitution,” Tranter warned.

Most Super Bowl cities report solicitation increases during game week.

Of course they report an increase in solicitation- they increase the efforts to find it!!!

Police will respond to print and Internet advertisements for sexual services as well as patrol for prostitution activity.

Pickpockets also are attracted to large events, Tranter said.

Officers will go undercover at hotels and parties, and Tranter cautioned that people answering ads for sexual services could find themselves in the company of a police officer.

I love how they throw the pickpocket comment in for good measure, to let us know that they actually do fight real crime when they’re not busy jerking off to escort advertisements on the internets on our dime.

Earlier this month, Phoenix police raided a Mesa hotel and broke up a child-prostitution ring involving two 15-year-olds, a 17-year-old and a girl who had just turned 18. One was from Oregon and the other three were from California.

Police were told they came to Phoenix because there was too much heat from authorities in Las Vegas.

But more than likely, Tranter said, the ring also moved to the Valley to work the upcoming Super Bowl. Pimps can sometimes get double the money for underage girls.

I’d like to know what happened to those girls. It’s really unbelievable that they’d start the story out with “high class call girls” and end it with “underage girls.” What is actually being done for the underage girls who get ‘busted?’

  1. The police have been looking forward to the Super Bowl since the beginning of the year! What are they going to do after? It’ll be so difficult to go back to busting the regular workers without all the excitement of new girls traveling in.

If they could somehow figure out a way to make sure people realize their children are being harmed, they would. I’ve seen that before; they start off talking about a bust and end up discussing the dangers of the Internet to underage surfers. Anything to get people worried. (Not that they actually do anything useful for the real victims, as you pointed out.)

    XX

  2. It’s infuriating. Law enforcement also have a fun toy in Arizona called Mandatory Minimums. So for every prostitution conviction they get, it’s a mandatory 15 days in jail for the victim. If the victim has prior prostitution-related arrests, the mandatory minimum increases, if it’s a 4th conviction, it’s a felony!!!

Not only is it a ridiculous waste of resources, but it’s all about making people (mostly women and trans folx) fuel for the prison industry machine- a HUGE industry in AZ.

They claim that they’re going after clients, but do you actually think that the men who can afford to fly here and purchase Super Bowl tickets will get swept up in this? No way! The people that they’ll bust will be regular locals, people of color and people who are least likely to have the resources to fight back. Everybody will b bullied into guilty pleas with threats of “Your wife/husband, family/parents, neighbors will find out that you are a deviant if you don’t plea guilty!”

I hope lots of people will fight the charges because it is rare that the LE actually do their job correctly and most prostitution arrests don’t have enough evidence to convict, which is why they depend on the shame campaign to score the convictions.

    It is a sick game.

  4. The article mentioned a prostitution bust that involved minors, but please don’t be tricked into thinking that the efforts to crackdown on prostitution around the time of the Super Bowl are about stopping child prostitution. If they’re really interested in stopping child prostitution, than they can take the resources they’re using to arrest adults for consenting to have sex in exchange for payment with other adults and put those resources toward stopping child prostitution. These sting operations are about busting sex workers in prostitution, and they may go after clients so they can arrest the sex workers without being accused of sex discrimination. These Super Bowl sting operations describe in the article aren’t targeting child prostitution, but about targeting escorts, many of whom are adults.
I think that if we obtain statistics about these sting operations discussed in the article, we’ll be able to see this. Even if prostitution were decriminalized, child prostitution would still be criminalized under laws prohibiting sex with minors, so decriminalizing prostitution wouldn’t decriminalize sex with minors.

  5. Yea… what a crock of shit. Every major event in different cities the cops always step up to look beefly and like they really care about public safety when they don’t. I think they took a couple hundred people into jail during the NBA All-Star game when it was in Las Vegas. Mostly were cheap hookers walking the Strip charging nothing for everything in the world. I don’t mind it when they take those girls in😛 but seriously… do something good for the public and not spoil their fun.

  6. I get that the cops always target who they think is easiest to make an arrest on — but that doesn’t make girls who work off the web or in nice hotels any better, does it? No matter how much we charge or how “elite” our clientele are, there’s always someone out there to call us a “cheap hooker,” so it’s not a term I’d ever apply to another sex worker.

  7. Hey Las Vegas Courtesan you shouldn’t say you don’t mind if the police arrest “cheap hookers”. It is a violation to co-sign that it’s ok for any prostitute to go to jail. It can happen to you or any hoe so stop thinking you are so high and mighty. A lot of call girls are gfe bbbj friendly where hoes with Pimps don’t do stuff like that even though they walk the track/strip. So stop judging a girl based on whether they work the track or net. Some girls who walk the track may tell a trick they can have it all for $50 but he will be upsold to $1500 if she has the right game instilled in her and it doesn’t matter because he is a tourist and he is most likely a high roller.
