Did anybody see the segment on the Dr. Oz show about child sex trafficking? If so, what did you think? Here’s a link to the segment: http://www.doctoroz.com/videos/lisa-ling-sex-trafficking-america . I blogged about it here: http://veganvixen1.wordpress.com/2011/11/16/dr-ozs-segment-on-child-sex-trafficking/ .

This is one of the very few highly offensive acts done by humans. In fact, many of the children sold into the sex trade come from broken families or the foster care system. I personally see sex trafficking is becoming a growing problem all over the world
Personally, I think war is a highly offensive act done by humans. But nevermind that.
The trafficking of children is not a new trend and likely has not increased in numbers. Only the attention paid to it has. Unlike adults, children are not usually shipped to other countries but held in their own countries, so the ease of intercontinental travel makes no difference to how this particular business operates, except that a few countries have international child sex tourists.
It is highly likely that the sex trafficking of adults has increased with the ease of travel. But…don’t confuse work-migration with actual, coerced trafficking.
